GS1 (formally as EAN International)
GS1 takes a leading role in establishing a global multi-industry system of identification and communication for products, services and locations based on internationally accepted and business led standards. Together with 108 member organizations representing over 1,000,000 member companies spanning across over 20 sectors in 145 countries/economies, GS1 administers and develops the GS1 System which provides a common language for international trade.
Auto-ID Labs
Auto-ID Labs is a federation of research universities worldwide, namely MIT, University of Cambridge, University of Adelaide, Keio University, Fudan University, and University of St.Gallen. It mainly focus in research and developing new technologies and applications for revolutionizing global commerce and providing previously un-realizable consumer benefits.
EPCglobal Inc.
EPCglobal Inc. is leading in the development of industry-driven standards for the Electronic Product CodeTM(EPC) to support the use of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) in today's fast-moving, information rich trading networks. EPCglobal Hong Kong was formed in March 2004 under the auspices of GS1 Hong Kong as the local representative body of EPCglobal Inc., its' role is to promote and administrate EPC related services in Hong Kong.
Efficient Consumer Response Asia Council
An independent, joint trade and industry body that promotes the use of Efficient Consumer Response (ECR) techniques as a means of removing unnecessary costs from the supply chain. ECR Asia is now represented in 11 countries/economies and ECR Hong Kong, which was founded by the GS1 Hong Kong, is the local representative. The GS1 Hong Kong also facilitates ECR implementation projects for a wide range of industries like CEO Summit and ECR Asia Conference.
Global Commerce Initiative
A voluntary body of senior manufacturers and retailers in more than 45 companies, who conduct business across continents or via global supply chains. The GS1 are the world's principal standards organizations and support Global Commerce Initiative (GCI) aims is to better manage the development of standards for business processes around the world. The GS1 Hong Kong actively participates in GCI initiatives.
Global Logistics Initiative (GLI) and the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA)
Quality logistics links are essential to SCM. GS1 collaborates with FIATA to facilitate the adoption of multi-model global logistic technologies with GS1 standards. FIATA represents 45,000 companies in over 150 countries and actively promotes processes to facilitate trade between freight forwarders and their partners.
International Organisation for Standardization
International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is the world's largest developer of standards with principal activity is the development of technical standards for all types of people. Strategic collaboration was established between GS1 and ISO in global standards development.
Supply Chain Council
The Supply-Chain Council (SCC) has closer to 1,000 corporate members established worldwide as international chapters. Its' members support SCOR as the standard process reference model for communicating supply-chain management practices across companies. GS1 Hong Kong, as Hong Kong SCM pioneering industry supporting organization, initiates the foundation of SCC-Greater China to gear up the development of supply chain management best practices in the region.
United Nations Centre for Trade Facilitate and Electronic Business (UN/CEFACT)
Established in response to new technological developments UN/CEFACT facilitates international transactions by simplifying and harmonizing procedures and information flows. GS1 Hong Kong and its member organisations help UN/CEFACT to develop recommendations on best business practices such as develop global e-business standards in ebXML project.
Voluntary Interindustry Commerce Standards Association
The vision of the Voluntary Interindustry Commerce Standards Association (VICS) is worked to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the entire global supply chain. It pioneered the implementation of a cross-industry standard, Quick Response (QR) that simplified the flow of product and information in the retail industry for retailers and suppliers alike.
