Background Efficient Consumer Response (ECR), a supply chain management (SCM) movement in fast-moving consumer goods industry, was first introduced to Hong Kong through GS1 Hong Kong in 1995. The initiative was started with a series of pilots among a few local leading industry players with the support of government funding. In 1997, a permanent board called Supply Chain Management Advisory Board was set up to provide a direction to local industry players who wish to embrace ECR concept and technologies in their supply chain operation. With the increasing influence of ECR in Asia-Pacific region, more Asian countries are setting up similar boards and the board in Hong Kong is later renamed as ECR Hong Kong in 2002 to align with other national boards to produce a bigger impact of ECR within the region.
Mission ECR Hong Kong aims at championing SCM development in the consumer goods industry through the promotion of ECR concept and adoption of related best practices.
Interest Area The board works around the SCM concept called ECR. ECR encompasses 14 management concepts which can be grouped into 4 pillars known as Demand Management, Supply Management, Enablers and Integrators.

Board meetings are held regularly to share views and latest development in ECR.
