What is EZ*TRADE Service?
EZ*TRADE provides an effective and efficient communication platform for companies to conduct daily business transaction and automatic processing of information by different computer systems. EZ*TRADE eliminates additional effort in data re-entry and mapping. Since companies using e-Commerce technologies often lack the compatible electronic interfaces to capture and process information between trading partners, electronic communication standard such as GS1 EANCOM/XML are necessary for cost-effective electronic commerce to take place in a community scale.
All messages sent by EZ*TRADE are based on the international GS1 EANCOM/EDIFACT standard to enable automatic processing of information by different computer systems. EZ*TRADE runs on a secure global network and the internet which provides Hong Kong companies with connections not only to local trading partners, but also to overseas customers and suppliers.
EZ*TRADE users include retailers and manufacturers as well as the public sector and government departments. Currently around 70% of the purchase orders in the fast moving consumer goods sector in HK are being conducted via this common community platform, accounting for over 7,500 per day purchase orders being transmitted through EZ*TRADE during peak season.
How do I apply for EZ*TRADE membership?
- A completed GS1 Hong Kong EZ*TRADE membership application form.
- A copy of your company's Business Registration Certificate.
- A crossed-cheque made payable to the "GS1 Hong Kong Limited" for membership entrance and annual fee.

Upon receipt of the application, GS1 Hong Kong will then inform the service provider to send you the End User Service Agreement. You are required to sign and send it back together with a cheque payment for Web usage fee/Traffic Cost prepayment. It takes 5 working days to set up the EZ*TRADE account.
Once the application is approved, GS1 Hong Kong will provide the member with the service information pack together with EZ*TRADE Membership Number, User ID and Global Location Number.
