| Global Standards Management Process |
The HKGSMP (Hong Kong Global Standards Management Process) is a portal of information to support standards development and maintenance activity for the GS1 System including the standards-based solutions and best practices for global trade using GS1 System technologies. The System includes but not limited to standards development, standards maintenance, and implementation support.
The HKGSMP is to bring together users from all industries to gather the local business requirements to derive the local standard solutions or local implementation guideline for global standards. At the same time, the newly developed local solutions and local business requirements will be submitted for global GSMP endorsement (maintained by GS1) and further development. The aim is to speed up the delivery of standards and best practices for local implementation.
The system is consisted of three major modules:
- Standards and Guidelines Repository
People can obtain the latest standards and implementation guidelines for their business processes and technologies implementation.
- Change Request
People can submit a change request for any changes to the existing GS1 standards or new requirements for new solutions by completing a Change Request Form.
- Discussion Forum
People can express their opinion and post questions related to standards, technologies and best practices implementation for discussion purposes.
