Revealing 5 Digtialisation Trends of Enterprises & New Success Strategies in New Normal The 20th GS1 HK Summit themed “Scaling Digital Transformation ● Cultivating Digital Assets” was held in hybrid mode for the first time on 10 June, attracting over 1,300 physical and virtual delegates joining the special occasion.
The Summit was inaugurated by Government officials and business leaders. Mr. Alfred Sit, JP, Secretary for Innovation & Technology, underscored the importance of digital transformation in the opening address, and described it as “the ‘hope’ to businesses under the ‘new normal’”. He believed that with the implementation of IoT devices, blockchain, analytic tools, the movement of raw materials and inventory could be easily tracked, providing real-time traceability in production and generating useful data for management. Distinguished guest speakers dwelt on various topics, including vaccine supply chain traceability, reimagining retail commerce in a post-COVID world, building supply chain resilience from “Just-in-time” to “Just-in-case”, digital trade finance, etc. The Summit also saw the survey result announcement of “Retail Realignment: The road ahead for omnichannel in the Greater Bay Area” report.

The award presentation ceremony for the 10th Consumer Caring Scheme were also held at GS1 HK Summit, highlighting many companies are still committed to maintaining quality products and customer services despite the pandemic ravaged.
Dr. Bernard Chan, Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, delivered the opening speech at the ceremony, “In addition to making a profit, consumer caring companies also need to strive for product and service quality to gain recognition from the community, consumers and employees.”
