Hong Kong’s Port Community System (PCS) Launched - Industry urged to adopt

The Government announced the official launch of the Port Community System (PCS) in January 2026, marking a pivotal milestone in the digitalization of the port community.

As the city’s first-ever digital platform for cross-enterprise and inter-modal data sharing on cargo status, PCS leverages blockchain and cutting-edge technologies for secured data transmission, PCS provides end-to-end visibility of supply chain and port logistics, simplifies customs declarations, strengthens the industry’s international competitiveness, and opens up opportunities for trade finance facilitation.

With PCS, users can reduce cargo tracking time from hours to mere minutes, gaining reliable data that their partners can trust.

Key Functions of PCS

  • One-stop Real-time Cargo Tracking: Provides shipment status for both ocean and air cargoes.

  • Intermodal Logistics Integration: Connects maritime and air cargo data, as well as truck location with GPS and warehouse confirmation via QR code.

  • Analysis and Alerts: Automated alerts for vessel delays, temperature deviations, and container pick-up delays. (*More alerts will be available in coming phases)

  • Value-added Electronic Services: Includes One-Data-Multiple-Declarations (ODMD), enabling users to submit trade declarations and sea manifests for both Hong Kong and Chinese Mainland through a single platform.
