Dinner Highlights

Embracing the World Cup football fever, GS1 HK Annual Dinner was held under the theme “One World, One Goal – Powered by One Code” this year. The dinner brought together close to 600 guests from the government, industry & business sectors to connect, drive collaboration and innovation. The evening opened in a refreshing way: six torch bearers accompanied the Government Officials, members of the Executive Council and Legislative Council, Board members and more to march in, igniting the World Cup spirit!

The programme was packed with excitement throughout the night, featuring GS1 HK Sing & Shine, the groundbreaking Musical Runway, Raise Your Glass Challenge, the award presentation ceremony of Consumer Caring Scheme, lucky draw & more - immersing guests in a vibrant and engaging atmosphere.

Ms Lillian Cheong, JP, Under Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, officiated at the dinner. Mr Roy Ng, Chairman of GS1 Hong Kong, delivered the welcome remarks.

The 15th Five Year Plan charts a clear roadmap for Hong Kong’s development as an innovation and technology hub. Achieving this ambition requires close collaboration across the Government, industry, and the wider innovation ecosystem.

While GS1 Hong Kong has provided simple yet powerful barcode in the past which has become a critical foundation for digital trade, the Government has been proceeding at full speed with the CorpID Platform project which is targeted to officially launch in end-2026. In addition, the Government is taking comprehensive actions to build Hong Kong into a leading AI innovation hub, citing the advancement of Sandy Ridge Fata Facility Cluster and Cyberport AI Supercomputing Centre and the roll out of $3 billion AI Subsidy Scheme and the support of wider adoption of AI in manufacturing, retail, trade and logistics through various funding schemes such as NIAS and NIFS.

- Ms Lillian Cheong Man-lei, JP, Under Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry

AI is only as good as the data it consumes. With global standards such as product identifiers, GS1 standards make data accurate, structured and AI‑readable - reducing fragmentation and enabling interoperable, consistent product information. When data is connected and trustworthy, it delivers the ‘Triple S’ of Product: Product Story, Product Safety and Product Sustainability.

- Mr. Roy Ng, Chairman of GS1 Hong Kong

GS1 HK Sing & Shine: Endless Surprises!

Talented singers from the industry took the stage, igniting the electrifying atmosphere of the night. Mr. Joseph Leung, Deputy Chief Executive, Gold Peak Technology Group Limited kicked off the performance and delivered the classic English hit “Imagine”. This was followed by Mr. Tony Wong, who captivated the audience with the timeless song -《小李飛刀》, emulating the distinctive vocals of Roman Tam. Ms. Gilly Wong then made an elegant appearance. During the grand finale sing‑along, Anna Lin, Chief Executive of GS1 HK, went on stage with former and current Board Members, dancing together to create a truly memorable moment.

Music Meets Fashion  — Supporting Young Designers

This year marked the first time GS1 HK seamlessly integrated a star-studded musical performance with a fashion runway, creating a brand‑new and distinctive highlight — the GS1•YKDC Musical Runway! During Joe Junior’s live performance, Ms Anna Lin, Chief Executive of GS1 Hong Kong, together with prominent industry guests—including Ms. Cissy Chan, Executive Director, Commercial, Airport Authority Hong Kong, Ms. Alice Yip, Partner, Head of Consumer & Retail, Hong Kong SAR, KPMG China, Ir. Elsa Yuen, President of the Hong Kong Logistics Association and Ms. Jenny Koo, Deputy Executive Director, Hong Kong Trade Development Council – presented fashion pieces designed by young talents on the runway.
