Commitment to care wins recognition for 79 local businesses in GS1 Hong Kong’s Consumer Caring Scheme 2015

Hong Kong – 8 December 2015 - ‘Consumer Caring Companies 2015’ will be recognised during a presentation ceremony held at the GS1 Hong Kong Annual Members Dinner on 8th January 2016. Named “Consumer Caring Companies” for their commitment to excellence in technology and service to consumers, 79 local organisations will receive awards. In addition, a specifically designed logo “Consumer Caring 5 years” will be presented to those companies that have received the recognition for the 5th consecutive year. Twenty three organisations from the total of seventy nine will receive this special merit.

Commenced in 2011, the Consumer Caring Scheme aims to recognise companies that use international standards, information technology, and the optimisation of supply chain management to improve business processes to enhance consumer satisfaction. Judging is made on the basis of seven core consumer caring values including, consumer care, sincerity, commitment, product quality and safety assurance, service quality understanding consumer behaviours and caring for employees. A stringent performance evaluation is also made of each company entering the scheme including company visits and a consumer survey which were carried out fairly and professionally.

A further criterion is to assess all applicants’ consumer care measures and performances according to a scorecard based on the Efficient Consumer Response (ECR), an internationally recognised business best practice aimed to achieve customer satisfaction through collaboration between businesses and trading partners.

Anna Lin, JP, Chief Executive of GS1 Hong Kong says, “the Consumer Caring Scheme was established to encourage companies to enhance their ‘consumer-first’ convictions by offering high quality products and superior customer service. We are happy to endorse ‘Consumer Caring Companies’ and highly appreciate the support given by various industries. As role models, the endorsed enterprises make a huge contribution to raising the quality and service levels of their industry to the benefit of brands and consumers.”
