Overview

Tencent to Share with You the Rise of Cashless Society

Electronic payment has started very early in Hong Kong, but its development is slightly lagging behind at the moment. Last year, Hong Kong Monetary Authority had just begun to issue Licence of Stored Value Facilities (SVF) to authorised companies. Already the total value of SVF transactions was HK$31.8 billion in the second quarter of 2017, up 6.2% from the previous quarter. To keep abreast of consumers' spending habit and reap the business benefits, it is prime time for merchants to recognise the trend and application, providing more convenient services to consumers and adding value to HK retail industry.

GS1 Hong Kong invited representative from Tencent to share with our members the demand and development of mobile payment in the seminar. With more visitors and consumers paying in RMB, increasing number of retail outlets in Hong Kong are accepting mobile payment like WeChat Pay, providing convenience for consumers to pay in RMB or HKD for their purchase. Members can also learn the additional value-added mobile payment services that benefits merchants and consumers.

During the seminar, GS1 Hong Kong’s partner will talk about a more cost effective payment solution when compared with credit card, and a consumer rebate program that provide more competitive pricing for members, offered by Tencent as incentive. This seminar will introduce the eligibility of this rebate program and its future development. If you would like to enjoy the huge benefits bought on the spending power from this latest electronic payment, this seminar is the one that CANNOT be missed!
