Summit Highlights

Gathering 600 senior executives, decision-makers, and industry experts, The GS1 Hong Kong Summit explored about STAR—Sustainability, Transformation, AI, and Resilience—that will impact business operations, and support businesses competitiveness.
The evolvement of Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) is exciting as businesses take steps to protect our Mother Earth and assume more social responsibilities in their business practices to make our world greener and more equitable. The Government is also spearheading the adoption of Al in logistics through the Port Community System (PCS), which will be implemented for industry use starting in early 2026.
- Guest of Honour - Ms Mable Chan, JP, Secretary for Transport and Logistics of the HKSAR Government
Driven by rising consumers’ expectation, regulatory requirements, ‘S’ - sustainability is no longer optional, but a must for businesses. Products selling to EU will be required to feature a Digital Product Passport that shows consumers the product’s lifecycle - where it comes from, what it’s made of, how sustainable it is, and whether it can be recycled. QR codes powered by GS1 standards capture unique product identifiers - GTIN (barcodes), GLN (location identifiers), etc, and provide instant access to these verified data, supporting companies meet regulatory requirements and build consumer trust.
- Mr Roy Ng, Chairman of GS1 HK

Ms Mable Chan, JP, Secretary for Transport and Logistics of the HKSAR Government, Mr Roy Ng, Chairman of GS1 HK, Mr Zhou Qiang, Deputy Director-General of the Economic Affairs Department and Head of the Commercial Office of the LOCPG, Hon Frankie YICK Chi-ming, GBS, JP, Legislative Council Member, Ms Anna Lin, MH, JP, FCILT Chief Executive of GS1 HK officiated the opening ceremony.
IKEA North Asia was the keynote speaker at the Summit, sharing key strategies for driving digital transformation. In addition, Deloitte China, Cobalt Fashion (Hong Kong), Gold Peak Technology Group and GS1 Global explored the key to fulfill future EU Digital Product Passport requirements.
The Summit also revealed consumer trends across Asia, the Greater Bay Area (GBA), and Hong Kong; how enterprises can leverage AI to improve operational efficiency; unlock potential of Agentic AI; “going out” sales strategies; sustainable supply chains; and tips to strive in adversity.
Industry experts from Cafe de Coral Holdings Limited, Deloitte China, DKSH, FoodTech AI, Geek+, HKTVmall, HULA, JDHK Worldwide, Jebsen, KPMG China, Lazada, Locolla Ltd, Meiriki Japan Co., Momax Technology, Tai Po Chun Hung, The Bank of East Asia, Tmall Global, Uni-China Group, YouGov HK & China, etc, shared their insights at the Summit.
They stated that AI is not for replacing humans; rather, enterprises should use AI to improve business operations. Many industries still require human touch and personalized service, which AI cannot replace.
The power of AI lies in the reliability of the data it consumes. To prevent ‘garbage in, garbage out’, businesses must prioritize structured, verifiable, and trusted data. Data and AI technologies are inseparable — effectively managing both is key to unlocking their full potential and driving tangible business value.
- Anna Lin, Chief Executive of GS1 HK

The 2nd edition of GS1 HK’s Digital Transformation Awards Ceremony was also held at the event, recognising businesses that have successfully implemented digital transformation initiatives in 10 award categories, including excellence in AI innovation, customer experience, digital enablement, ESG & sustainability, digital trust & data management, etc.
