The 21st GS1 Hong Kong Summit

With loads of networking opportunities and thought-provoking commentaries and discussions, GS1 HK Summit 2022 ended with flying colours. More than 1,500 delegates from cross-sector trades registered in-person and online, including Greater Bay Area cities.

 

 

 

Themed “The Future is Now: Enabling Growth through ‘IDD’ (Innovation, Disruption and Digital Transformation)”, the 21st edition of the Summit is amongst the accredited events celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR.

Mr. Michael Wong, Acting Financial Secretary inaugurated the event as the Guest of Honour and delivered the opening address, with Ms. May Chung, Vice-chairman of GS1 Hong Kong Board welcoming the guests.

Kicking off the Summit was our keynote speaker Ar. Donald Choi, Executive Director and CEO of Chinachem Group, who spoke on “Enabling the Transformation Journey Through Innovation and Disruption”. He underscored the importance of fusing entrainment, retail, F&B, co-working space and culture to deliver an integrated carnival-like unique experience, in order to turn consumer into loyal customer.

The Summit also saw the survey result announcement of “Retail Recharged: Engaging consumers with technology, purpose and trust” report, revealing that 80% of Chinese mainland GBA consumers strongly prefer socially responsible brands, whereas retailers are facing growing consumer demand for ESG and data protection.

In the many plenary sessions and track sessions that followed, thought-leaders from a mix of industries explored how technology and sustainability are reshaping the future of retail, finance, healthcare and other sectors.

The Summit was completed by The Entrepreneur Forum, where top executives of various F&B companies shared their experience and success formula, on how to withstand adversity and thrive through the pandemic.
