Background

Body

Nedap, the global leader in RFID solutions, strives to provide retailers with a complete view of the supply chain, enabling them to perfectly match demand and supply anywhere, at any moment, thus resulting in seamless shopping experiences for the end consumers.

The company offers the ID Cloud Platform to retailers to access inventory data across the entire supply chain. Their RFID middleware is an EPCIS repository that is built on the GS1 EPCIS standard. It helps enable different retailers’ systems to communicate between solutions and systems such as ERP, POS, and WMS to give the retailers a single source of truth.

To stay on top of the game, Nedap continually invests in its staff’s learning and development by offering training and coaching opportunities.

Solution – RFID/EPC Certification Course

Body

Besides general training programs, the company offers Nedap-specific expertise training, so they found GS1 Hong Kong to enhance their RFID-related knowledge. Nominated staff attended the “Certified RFID / EPC Professional Training Program” provided by GS1 HK Academy in early 2023.

Professional and Practical

Instructed by GS1 HK’s Chief Architect with over 35 years of experience in system development and consultancy, the training featured pragmatic knowledge on the strategy formulation, framework setup, implementation, and application of RFID and related technologies. For example, the new features of EPCIS v1.2 and the relevant RFID/EPC tag operations.

More Confident Selling

Learners were tested on their understanding and skills, and a course certificate was awarded upon completion of the training course. Equipped with in-depth RFID knowledge and applications, Nedap staff are able to more confidently present their RFID solution to their clients, helping them achieve perfect inventory visibility, zero waste and no losses.

The retail industry is ever-changing. New technology and innovation re-focus and alter the marketplace at every turn. Just like retailers, we must keep ahead of the curve to satisfy our clients’ needs to streamline operations and sustain profits. Learning from leading organisations like GS1 HK will help us stay on top of the game and open to challenging the status quo.
